New SFHS Stadium Turf Ground Breaking
Project Overview
Help Us Build the Future: SFHS Stadium Turf Project
At St. Francis High School, we believe in the power of opportunity—on the field, in the classroom, and throughout our community. That’s why we’re thrilled to share a transformational project already underway: our new stadium turf field, a long-awaited upgrade that brings modern amenities, expanded community access, and enduring pride to Mariner Nation.
For years, SFHS was one of just four public high schools in Milwaukee County without a synthetic turf field. Now, that’s changing—and with your help, we’re not just leveling the playing field… we’re launching something bigger than a game.
Why This Project Matters
This isn’t just a new field. It’s a commitment to opportunity, excellence, and community spirit. Our new turf field will serve multiple school and community programs year-round, including:
- Football
- Soccer (for the first time in school history!)
- Track and field
- Baseball & Softball practices
- Physical education classes
- Cheer Team
- Marching Band
- Dance and Poms Team
- School events, and
- Expanded community events, civic programs, and recreational activities
No more weather delays. No more maintenance challenges. Just more time for kids to play, learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Vision: All Mariners, All In
We’re not just building a field—we’re building a legacy. One that honors past generations of Mariners while paving the way for the next.
To fund this ambitious effort, we’ve assembled a passionate Alumni Fundraising Team who believe in the power of giving back. We’ve already secured a grant from the NFL Foundation, with a potential grant pending from the Green Bay Packers. With your help, the rest will come from our community—Mariner alumni, families, businesses, and friends—who share our vision for what’s possible.
Our fundraising campaign is launching soon, and we invite you to be part of it. Whether you’re an alum from the Class of ’68 or ’04, a proud parent, a local business leader, or a longtime fan in the bleachers—this is your moment to make a difference.
Mark Your Calendars!
We are on schedule to unveil the new stadium at the Ribbon-cutting ceremony @ 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 28, for our first home football game against St. Thomas More. This will be a celebration of community, pride, and the enduring Mariner spirit. You won’t want to miss it!
